What kind of tattoos do you do?
I recommend looking through my portfolio on my website or via Instagram (@sammyvanhiggins) to get an idea of my tattoo style.
How do I book a tattoo with you?
My Instagram bio and the header of my website will say whether my books are open or closed, as well as any upcoming guest spot/convention dates. When my books are open, please use the booking form on my website! If your idea is accepted, I’ll email you back to select a date and collect the deposit. Please be sure only to use the booking form, it will really streamline the process!! Unfortunately I will NOT be able to take on every project, and it will not be first come first served. Availability will be limited & tattoos will be booked based on the ideas in my style that I think I can do the best job of.

I do not use anything else, like Instagram DMs or text because those tend to get buried under other notifications and it is easiest to keep your inquiries all in one place.
Please be ready to leave a deposit as well!
What is your pricing for tattoos?
My 2024 hourly rate is $180 per hour for local bookings. For conventions/guest spots, my hourly is $200 per hour. The only exception is if we have discussed a different hourly rate or flat rate for your appt via email.
When can I see my tattoo design?
You can see your design in person on the day of your appointment! I don't send out designs beforehand, but changes can easily be made on the day of! I draw on an iPad digitally, so changes are typically pretty quick.
Do you tattoo darker skin tones?
Yes, of course!! I’m very comfortable tattooing darker skin tones and making color choices that will work best for any skin tone. I can offer free color tests before your booked appointment for any BIPOC that may want to see a few colors heal on their skin before getting a larger piece. Do you tattoo minors?
no, I only tattoo ages 18 and up!

When you send an email, you should get an auto-response with all of the necessary links to answer any questions you may have!

Keep in mind, if you submit a booking form, I unfortunately can't fit everyone into my schedule! You'll only be getting an email if your idea is accepted!(:
Are there any tattoos you won't do?
Never any hate symbols or designs rooted in racism, bigotry, etc. I won't tattoo certain areas if I am not comfortable (for example, faces, necks, or hands if you are not already heavily tattooed). I do not do black and grey, watercolor, realism tattoos, or anything too far out of my current style of work. I will only take on cover-ups if it's something I am confident will work & if I am given a good amount of creative freedom. I want to make sure you get the best tattoo possible, so if I think I can't give 100% to the style you are wanting, I can always provide recommendations for a better suited artist!
Where can I park for my appointment?
Unfortunately, there is no on-site parking. Please do not park in the lot by the shop, it is a tow away zone! Please use street parking on N Graham Ave, E Jefferson St, Washington St, N Glenwood Ave, or N Hillside Ave
Can I bring a friend to my appointment?
You may bring one guest with you- we have plenty of room at the shop!
